Gates Motel

“Rhindress meets the challenge of the comedic thriller genre…(with) an evening of spine shivering shocks and ‘gotcha there’ laughter…a crowd pleaser.” – Amherst Daily News

Dave McClelland as Rusty Gates in Gates Motel, Live Bait Theatre, 1994

Rusty Gates is obsessed with the movie Psycho and just happens to run a place called “Gates Motel.” It’s a dark and stormy night when a young university professor knocks on his door looking for some shelter. Secretly, she’s also looking into the disappearance of her sister. Then a gun toting private eye shows up. And a philandering husband. Then a dead body. Add a silhouetted figure in a wheelchair and it’s starting to look like anybody could be the killer. Throw in a power outage and you’ve got an action packed comedic thriller.

Cast Requirements: 3 Males/3 Females and one dead body

Premiered at Live Bait Theatre, 1994

“…entertaining…it has murder, mayhem and missing people…Rhindress provides his characters with the situations, confrontations and hilarious lines necessary for an entertaining parody.” – Halifax Chronicle Herald
